Webhook
Definition
A way for one system to automatically notify another system the moment something happens, by sending data to a specific URL, rather than requiring the second system to repeatedly check for updates.
Going deeper
01
How it's used with calling software
A form, ad platform, or CRM can send a new lead to a campaign's webhook URL the moment it's created, triggering an outbound call automatically.
02
Why it beats manually checking for updates
A webhook pushes data the instant something happens, rather than a system having to repeatedly ask an API whether anything new has occurred.
