People don't leave voicemails anymore. If we miss the call, they just call the next name on Google.
The problem
Kevin's technicians were on jobs most of the day, which meant a lot of inbound calls went straight to voicemail, especially during the peak summer months when AC units were failing all over town. He knew he was losing business but had no real way to measure how much until he started tracking missed calls for a month and found nearly a third of inbound calls went unanswered.
What changed
He set up automatic callbacks on every missed call, with the AI asking what the issue was, how urgent it was, and booking a technician visit directly if a slot was available that day.
The result
Kevin said the summer after he set it up was the busiest his business had ever been, even though the number of trucks on the road stayed the same. He estimates he's booking at least three to four extra jobs a week that would have previously gone to voicemail and never been recovered.
